Dear Diary:

Hardly anyone really ever thinks about we Canuckians. It's true. And when they do, the adjectives they tend to use to describe us and our country are the words "nice" and "clean". If Canada was a colour, it would be beige.

You can imagine how depressed that leaves us, eh.

Image property of CNN and only used in my personal diary as an illustration and not for commercial purposes.THEN one of our prime minister's aides happened to call the U.S. president a moron last week within hearing range of a journalist and suddenly there was Canada being mentioned on CNN's Crossfire with the words:

Oh Canada. It's big. It's cold. Is it a threat?

Well, my three loyal readers can well imagine our excitement over THAT. We're we're no longer NICE. We're BIG. We're COLD. We could be a THREAT.

We are positively euphoric.

And, to help the U.S. Commander-In-Chief find us in case, uh, he wants to neutralize that threat, I've prepared a little map because I heard he didn't have the easiest time during his school years.

Canuckistan. The Great White North. The True North Strong and Free.

Oh. Drat. There I go being all helpful and nice again, eh. It's not easy, being Canuckistani.

P.P.S.--If you're doing any of your Christmas shopping at Amazon this year, why not do it through Blue Sphere? Five per cent of what you spend will be donated by Amazon to Blue Sphere, and will be given to the Foster Parents Plan of Canada.

Yep, you get to make a large corporation cough up five per cent of its profits AND at no cost to yourself you get to help some poor kids out. What's not to love about that, eh?

Blue Sphere, moral materialism

NEWSFLASH! Now you get the chance at Canuckistani Hot Chocolate for getting the word out about Blue Sphere. Whatcha waiting for? Huh? HUH?

This template is a riff on a design by the truly talented Quinn. Because I'm a html 'tard, I got alot of pity coding to modify it from Ms. Kittay, a woman who can make html roll over, beg, and bring her her slippers. The logo goodness comes from the God of Graphics, the Fuhrer of Fonts, the one, the only El Presidente. I smooch you all. The background image is part of a painting called Higher Calling by Carter Goodrich which graced the cover of the Aug. 3, 1998 issue of The New Yorker Magazine.

Kids, don't try viewing this at home without Netscape 6 or IE 4.5+, a screen resolution of 800 X 600 and the font Mead Bold firmly ensconced on your hard drive.
