Dear Diary:

Yes, at midnight last night we were cutting out numbers. Just shoot me now.If you ever wanted proof about how very important it is to choose the person you marry very, very carefully, all you had to do was to be at our house last night at midnight.

There we were, the spousal unit and I, cutting out itsy bitsy tiny numbered squares for this morning's drawing for the justly coveted Semi-Sacred Cavorting Prize Fundraising Chocolate Bar Which Has Lived In The Vegetable Keeper For At Least Two Weeks.

118 itsy bitsy tiny numbered squares, to be exact.

I'm sure that back on Dec. 21, 1974 when we said "I do", the spousal unit did not envision that one day that would entail him helping me cut out tiny little squares of paper so I could mail a chocolate bar off to someone whose path had crossed mine thanks to the wackiness of the internet.

He was only in his underwear and said that if I took a picture that showed that he would kill me. You have no idea how hard it was to resist the temptation.Bright and early this morning we mixed up the bits of paper, then tossed them into a tuque and mixed them some more. The spousal unit reached in and pulled out a tiny slip of paper.

Oh, I could be really, really cruel and delay announcing the winner.

You know, prolong the suspense and all.

But that would be mean.

Right?

So, without further ado, the winner is:

Number 32 turned out to be The 3 Bruces. I hope they accept their chocolate bar.

I rushed over to The International Cavorting Day Hall o' Fame and found out that 32 was THE 3 BRUCES!

Now I haven't received any confirmation from the 3 Bruces people that they actually WANT the justly coveted Semi-Sacred Cavorting Prize Fundraising Chocolate Bar Which Has Lived In The Vegetable Keeper For At Least Two Weeks.

If it turns out that they are the sort of troubled loners people who don't accept candy from strangers, then another drawing will be made tonight.

There will be further bulletins as events progress.

--Marn

P.S.--I HAVE HAD AN ACCEPTANCE E-MAIL FROM THE 3 BRUCES! There is talk of making the justly coveted prize part of a Bacchanalia and That Pictures May Be Sent.

Again, I can only say, there will be further bulletins as events progress.

Don't forget, there are Trading Cards to collect. Bet you didn't know it was me who discovered The Theory of Relativity, eh?

And we have another Cavortateer! It's never too late to join the movement and today's inductee into the movement is:

The Scrawl at the End of the Hall

This template is a riff on a design by the truly talented Quinn. Because I'm a html 'tard, I got alot of pity coding to modify it from Ms. Kittay, a woman who can make html roll over, beg, and bring her her slippers. The logo goodness comes from the God of Graphics, the Fuhrer of Fonts, the one, the only El Presidente. I smooch you all. The background image is part of a painting called Higher Calling by Carter Goodrich which graced the cover of the Aug. 3, 1998 issue of The New Yorker Magazine.

Kids, don't try viewing this at home without Netscape 6 or IE 4.5+, a screen resolution of 800 X 600 and the font Mead Bold firmly ensconced on your hard drive.
