Dear Diary:

All the cool kids have one.

All of them.

And so, in a pathetic attempt to have the coolness rub off on me, I've gone and bought me a SWiSH tee shirt. I sent the money order off Monday and every morning I walk down to my mailbox and look inside in case, you know, it has arrived.

Oh be quiet.

Of course, Mangus' insanely cool drawing had nothing to do with my decision because, well, I'm too adult to be swayed by pretty pictures.

Mangus does him some wonderful artwork eh.

Oh be quiet.

I look EXACTLY like that except, well, my hair is white, I'm about 30 years older than the woman in the picture and I'm uh fluffy. (Chubby being *such* a derogative term, eh?)

Otherwise, exactly the same.

I would really, really love to be a part of SWiSH's contribution to Pride 2003 in New York. You can tuck away lots of things in closets, but your sexuality shouldn't have to be one of them. It's important for all of us to remind our politicians that when we talk about the status of homosexuals we're talking about a civil rights issue, not a "gay" issue. We all need to speak out.

Sadly, when I checked through our various assets -- oh, okay, so that mostly involved me shaking my pineapple piggy bank -- there's no way I can swing a trip to New York.

I'm going to have to make do with a pink tee shirt.

An insanely cool pink tee shirt.

Here's hoping some of the coolness rubs off on me.

This template is a riff on a design by the truly talented Quinn. Because I'm a html 'tard, I got alot of pity coding to modify it from Ms. Kittay, a woman who can make html roll over, beg, and bring her her slippers. The logo goodness comes from the God of Graphics, the Fuhrer of Fonts, the one, the only El Presidente. I smooch you all. The background image is part of a painting called Higher Calling by Carter Goodrich which graced the cover of the Aug. 3, 1998 issue of The New Yorker Magazine.

Kids, don't try viewing this at home without Netscape 6 or IE 4.5+, a screen resolution of 800 X 600 and the font Mead Bold firmly ensconced on your hard drive.
